Dr Amy Mumford is an Educational Psychologist.

She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology (BSc) at the University of Gloucestershire before working with children with social communication and interaction difficulties in a Communication and Interaction (C&I) Centre in Gloucester. During her 3 years at the C&I centre, Amy was particularly interested in all of the amazing ways to use LEGO to develop interactional and emotional skills in children, and this remains something Amy is passionate about. Amy also spent some time working for a Pupil Referral Unit/Alternative Provision School, and volunteering for organisations such as the Samaritans, before beginning her training to be an EP.

Amy completed her doctorate at the University of Exeter, writing her thesis on the topic on 'Safe Spaces' for children and young people, and spending over 2 years working in Gloucestershire Educational Psychology Service as a Trainee EP.

Amy is particularly interested in the way in which consultation can help to empower staff members in schools and how to use dynamic assessment to inform provision and support. Since starting with EPE she has also started completing CPD in Projective Techniques and will be supporting the ELSA training programme and ELSA supervision.

Outside of Educational Psychology, Amy likes spending time with her Cavapoo 'Cheddar' (and any other animals she meets), reading fiction, walking and cooking.
